Overview

The Shibi Boba branding and design project is aimed at creating a playful, vibrant, and modern identity for a bubble tea shop that caters to a youthful, fun-loving audience. The goal is to develop a comprehensive brand experience that captures the joy of enjoying bubble tea, focusing on visual elements that communicate freshness, creativity, and the vibrant culture surrounding boba tea.

A premium bubble tea house offering quality drinks east Asian baked goods.

Shibi Boba is a family-owned bubble tea shop founded by Leah Lee and her husband Johnny Lee. Originally from Osaka, they relocated to Vancouver in 2013 and have always bonded over their shared passion for 2000s Japanese entertainment. Recognizing that the cafe culture is very different in Canada, they decided to bring one of their favorite pastimes from Osaka to Vancouver. Thus, Shibi Boba was born—a premium bubble tea house offering East Asian baked goods and featuring a new anime theme every month. To enhance the nostalgic experience, the shop also boasts old video game consoles imported directly from Japan.
